A New Roof for a Well-Used Clepper Park Shelter
TruCraft Exteriors completed this Union Township roof replacement on Shelter B at Clepper Park, located near the playground in Clermont County. The approximately 700-square-foot roof was replaced with CertainTeed Landmark dimensional shingles in Resawn Shake.
Removing the Existing Roof and Building the New System
The project began with a complete tear-off of the existing roofing material.
Once the roof was prepared for the new system, felt underlayment was installed beneath the shingles. Underlayment creates an additional protective layer between the roof deck and the finished roofing material.
The project also included new drip edge and gutter apron. These components may not be the most noticeable parts of a finished roof, but they play an important role around the roof perimeter by helping direct water away from vulnerable edges and toward the gutter system.
CertainTeed Landmark Shingles in Resawn Shake
For the finished Union Township roof replacement, the shelter received CertainTeed Landmark dimensional asphalt shingles in Resawn Shake.
The dimensional profile gives the roof more visual depth than a traditional three-tab shingle, while the warm, natural tones of Resawn Shake work well with the wooded park setting and the shelter’s recreational surroundings.
The finished roof provides a clean update to a structure that serves visitors enjoying Clepper Park and the nearby playground.
